Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer - Northampton (Hybrid) - Up to £49K
I am looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a well know UK not-for-profit company based in Northampton.
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer will play an integral role maintaining, developing and securing the companies Azure, Network and Windows IT infrastructure across all UK sites.
Key Skills
- Excellent experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive and Sophos.
- Extensive experience with azure cloud technologies and azure backup systems.
- Good networking experience - TCP/IP DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching, VPN technologies, firewalls, WAN connectivity, and Wi-Fi.
- Proficient with VMware vSphere/ESXi, Virtual infrastructure management, virtual server administration and maintenance, high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Windows, networking, cloud or security certifications would be advantageous
- Good experience with Veeam backup and disaster recovery solutions, cyber security best practices, and PowerShell scripting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management and development of the organisation's IT infrastructure.
- Support and maintain on-premise and cloud-based environments.
- Administer Microsoft Server technologies, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Manage virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity and availability.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Drive infrastructure projects, upgrades and technology refresh programmes.
- Ensure systems remain secure and compliant with cybersecurity best practices.
- Provide 3rd line technical support and act as a senior escalation point.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver high-quality IT services.
