Role: Commercial Manager
Salary/Rate: £475-575.63 per day inside IR35
Location: mainly on site in Corsham
Contract Duration: 12 months
We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager for our government client.
This Commercial Manager role is hybrid, based between 4 days per week on site in Corsham (Monday to Thursday), and the remainder of the week working from home. There is no further flexibility with expected time on sites, or the office location.
The contract for this Commercial Manager position is for 12 months, with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.
Security Clearance: Developed Vetting clearance (DV) + sole UK national + Must be able to be STRAP inducted and have no foreign connections
Please note this role is not suitable for those with pacemakers or embedded medical devices.
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.
Essential Skills / Experience required:
- Commercial Management 5+ years' experience
- Proven experience leading and managing the procurement of complex projects, including planning, execution, and delivery within defined scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Has supported in a competition, start to finish, even content introduction at beginning.
- Strong ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary teams, senior leadership, customers, and external partners to support procurement and project objectives.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, managing competing stakeholder expectations and delivering procurement activities at pace.
- Hold Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Level 4.
- Experience dealing with Service Management rather than digital.
Desirable Skills
- Evidence of providing commercial expertise, including supporting project teams to achieve necessary approvals, and providing sound commercial advice throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Ideally Big Framework contracts or differential
- Experience in infrastructure
- How to exit a PFI contract
- Public Sector/defence experience is preferred
Role / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing the existing Commercial landscape and reviewing the impact on programme delivery.
- Design and implement approaches which ensure the right outcome for the department.
- Lead on Supplier integration with regards to relationship and cost impact.
- Able to clarify the ability to terminate current contracts, working with programme finance leads to understand impact and realisation of any potential benefits.
- Capable of renegotiating existing contracts.
- Manage the impact of existing Commercial financial models.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the incumbent Suppliers and the department.
