A growing organisation in the education services sector is seeking a talented Web Developer to join its IT team. You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining internal and customer-facing applications, supporting ERP integrations, and ensuring database performance.
This is a varied role combining hands-on development with database administration and server management. You'll work across a Microsoft-centric environment, contributing to exciting projects that enhance customer experience and drive operational efficiency.
This is a full-time permanent position, paying between circa £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
This Web Developer position is hybrid, based between 1-2 days per month on site in Lincoln, and the remainder of the time working remotely. This position is open to UK residents only.
Qualifications & Skills required:
- Strong PHP development experience (Symfony, Laravel)
- Proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL) and SSMS SQL Server Management Studio
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Navision)
- Knowledge of server environments (Linux & Windows)
- Understanding of SSL, web security, and Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with Git version control
- WordPress development
- Front-end experience with Bootstrap / Angular / Node.js
- Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Node.js)
What you'd be doing:
- Develop and maintain PHP applications using Symfony/Laravel frameworks
- Build and support API integrations with ERP and third-party systems
- Assist in modernising a legacy ERP platform (Navision)
- Contribute to WordPress development and front-end enhancements
- Write and optimise T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers
- Manage SQL Server performance, backups, and reporting (SSRS)
- Ensure database integrity and security using SSMS
- Handle SSL certificate management and implement web security best practices
- Deploy and maintain applications on Linux (Ubuntu, Apache, Nginx) and Windows (IIS) servers
- Provide occasional IT support alongside the wider team
