Role: Part-time Instructional Designer, 10 days a month
Salary/Rate: £400-500 per day inside IR35
Location: Hybrid Exeter
Contract Duration: 12 months
We are currently looking for an Instructional Designer for our government client.
This Instructional Designer role is hybrid, based 3 days every 2 months on site in Exeter and the remainder of the time working remotely.
The contract for the Instructional Designer position is for 12 months, with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.
Security Clearance: Security Check ("SC Clearance")
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.
Essential skills/experience required:
- Must be an experienced Instructional Designer
- Knowledge of the Learning design process
- Developing learning content
- Advanced skills in Rise360
- Working level understanding of Storyline360
- Advanced video editing
- Availability to own content creation and publishing software
- Understanding of the practical applications of AI in learning design
- Ability to challenge ideas and offer learning solutions.
Role/responsibilities:
- Apply Instructional Design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE) to develop scalable and effective learning solutions.
- Work with subject-matter experts, stakeholders, and key internal teams to define training needs, learning objectives, and learner parameters.
- Create engaging, learner-centred instructional materials, including e-learning modules, explainer videos, instructor-led training, blended learning solutions, and job aids.
- Develop content in a variety of formats, ensuring they are aligned with organisational needs and ensuring all learning solutions are accessible, inclusive, and compliant with relevant training best practice, policies and standards.
- Use learning technologies and platforms (e.g., LMS, authoring tools, video editing software) to deliver and manage content effectively.
- Support SMEs to develop learning content through, for example, the creation of templates and written/video guidance.
- Evaluate and test learning materials to ensure effectiveness, making iterative improvements based on feedback.
