Role: Commercial Strategy Lead
Salary/Rate: £71-81 per hour inside IR35
Location: Hybrid in Reading, 3x per week on site
Contract Duration: 18-months
We are currently looking for a Commercial Strategy Lead for our government client.
This Commercial Strategy Lead role is hybrid, between 3 days per week in the office in Reading and the remainder of the week working remotely. There will also be a requirement to visit other sites in West Berkshire as required, approx. 1-2x per month. There is no further flexibility with expected time on site.
The contract for the Commercial Strategy Lead position is for 18-months, with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.
Security Clearance: Security Check (SC Clearance)
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.
Essential skills/experience required:
- Proven experience leading a commercial strategy team.
- Strong pre‑contract procurement knowledge and expertise
- Strong task and workload management skills for teams of around six people.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver sourcing strategies.
- Experience leading commercial strategy for external frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience working with and managing external frameworks
- End‑to‑end procurement delivery experience
- Strategic thinker with the ability to shape and influence commercial direction
- Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels, internal and external, written and verbal
- Solid understanding of the Procurement Act and procurement regulations
- Proven experience operating within the public sector
- Experience delivering infrastructure and construction procurement strategies
- Knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, with a preference for NEC4
