Salary Range: $170,000 - $200,000 based on experience
Circle Recruitment is partnering with an established general contractor in South Florida to recruit an experienced Chief Estimator with a strong background in commercial construction and preconstruction leadership.
This opportunity is suited to a senior construction professional who has successfully led estimating departments, managed complex project bids and developed preconstruction strategies across a diverse range of construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the estimating department, managing workloads, resources and team performance
Direct the preparation of detailed cost estimates, budgets and competitive bids
Develop estimating strategies and support business growth initiatives
Oversee subcontractor procurement, bid evaluations and scope reviews
Collaborate with senior leadership, Project Executives and Project Managers throughout preconstruction
Manage value engineering, risk assessments and cost optimization strategies
Support client negotiations and maintain strong relationships with key project stakeholders
Requirements
15+ years of construction industry experience, including extensive estimating and preconstruction leadership
Proven experience as a Chief Estimator or Preconstruction Director working directly for a general contractor
Demonstrated experience managing and developing established estimating teams
Strong background in large-scale commercial construction, including high-rise developments
Experience across multiple construction sectors, ideally including education and healthcare
Thorough understanding of construction estimating, cost analysis and subcontractor procurement
Familiarity with CM at Risk and Design-Build project delivery methods
Proficiency with industry estimating software and construction management platforms
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field
Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
Knowledge of the South Florida construction market is highly advantageous
