IT Field/Project Engineer - MSP
Huddersfield | Field-Based (M62 Corridor) | Driving Licence Essential
£35,000-£40,000 DoE + Benefits
A well-established and growing MSP based in Huddersfield is looking for a technically strong, client-facing IT Field/Project Engineer to join their Technical Services team. This role is around 90% on the road, primarily covering the M62 corridor, and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys project ownership, hands-on infrastructure work, and building strong relationships directly with customers.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Plan and deliver infrastructure, cloud, and networking projects on customer sites, including onboarding and EDR/MDR rollouts.
- Carry out Microsoft 365, server, and infrastructure migrations, deploying and configuring Microsoft 365, Azure, and Server solutions.
- Support and implement virtualisation environments (Hyper-V/VMware) and maintain networking equipment including switches, Wi-Fi, and firewalls.
- Attend onsite escalations such as server issues, acting as an escalation point for the Technical Support team.
- Deliver technical workshops and guidance to customers, and maintain clear project documentation.
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years' experience in a technical engineering, infrastructure, or MSP environment, delivering projects from planning through to completion.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows desktop and Server environments, with solid Microsoft 365 and Azure experience.
- Good working knowledge of virtualisation (Hyper-V/VMware) and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls).
- Comfortable being on the road daily, with a full UK driving licence essential.
- Strong communication skills, confident translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, WatchGuard, Fortinet etc) are a plus.
