We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Government client based in Aldermaston, Reading. This role requires 100% site attendance, and potential travel to other sites (approx. 5%). Travel to other sites will be expensed, but no expenses provided for usual place of work.
The Senior Network Engineer role will be an initial 12 month contract paying between £70- £76 per hour Inside IR35.
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:
- Juniper experience
- Experience with firewalls
- Routers
- LAN, WAN
- Technical lead within team
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, TCP/IP, networking and information system security principles, practices, and technologies
- Ensure network services are maintained and up to date
- Undertake a defined range of Network engineering design, development and test activities
- Resolve any loss of service due to hardware or software issues
- Escalate significant issues to Technical Service Manager/Line Manager
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player
- Reviewing, daily, the status of the core network, logging incidents where appropriate
- Escalating, in advance, to the Network Manager any likely breaches of agreed deadlines
- Working with customers, project leads, third parties and other stakeholders to discuss technical service issues assisting with the resolution of said issues
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on network technologies
- Working to assist with capacity and availability management of the network
- Problem Solving: investigate and resolve problems for services within their own area of responsibility
- Provisioning network services and devices where appropriate.
