We are seeking a Programme Communications and Engagement Management for our Government client based in London. This role will be office based min 2 days per week (Wed and Thurs) and the remaining remote. The Communications Manager role will be an initial 6 month contract, paying between £500 - £550/Day Inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:

  • You will work with the Business Change leads and project teams to develop and deliver workshops, presentations, and communications ensuring that you gain staff "buy-in" for changes to systems and preventing teams from reverting to outdated practices.
  • Developing, designing, implementing and maintaining a multi-channel, audience-first communications strategy aimed at staff. Working with business change leads so that staff can find and act on key information about their IT system and digital application rollout
  • In accordance with the business change roadmap, working with relevant change managers to create specific communication and engagement plans for individual projects and initiatives
  • With project/delivery teams, delivering the communications and engagement set out in the plans for projects and initiatives
  • You will oversee the communication elements of Programme Business Change Plan to ensure that it is kept up-to-date and maintained
  • Maintaining and developing the heartbeat Programme communications appropriate to each audience
  • Managing the Change network meetings, agendas and membership with direction from senior members of the business change team
  • Seeking out ongoing communication and engagement opportunities such as work with Change Network, engagement with L&D courses, and presentations to seniors, regional conferences etc. Preparing and delivering tailored presentations in accordance with the impact on and requirements of each audience
  • Writing and creating content for audience-focused communications channels, such as bulletins, briefing documents, talking points and emails making sure messaging is consistent and impactful
  • Ensuring feedback loops are in place to monitor and respond to staff feedback to improve communication messaging and tactics
  • Reporting on success of communications activity to senior leadership team
  • Managing and maintaining the intranet/Teams programme and project pages, including FAQs
  • Planning and supporting the delivery of presentations
  • Introducing better ways of measuring business change comms & engagement impact
  • Working closely with the business change managers to ensure programme communications activity is integrated where necessary across all projects and that there is the efficient and effective use of content across different audiences
  • Managing reporting processes across all key metrics
  • Providing high-quality tools and templates, if necessary ensuring that they can be used or adapted for local comms at Posts
  • Supporting the SRO on the delivery of leadership comms (e.g. videos, leadership briefings)
  • Deputising/covering for others in team if required
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across the organisation, building strong relationships
  • Knowledge of Prosci and ADKAR being desirable
  • Experience of working in communications, either in-house or in an agency, preferably in an internal communications role
  • Experience of writing for different audiences
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • The ability to create simple communications assets, such as presentation slide packs and newsletter templates
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to present work to others
  • Experience in planning, managing and delivering internal communications in a modern, fast paced communications team/department
  • Hands-on experience of digital comms/intranet management experience /video production
  • Experience in leadership communications and interacting with senior leaders
  • Experience of working across global networks would be desirable
  • Project management, planning and prioritisation skills
