£650 - £750/Day Inside IR35

We are seeking an Atlassian Application Support Engineer for our Government client based in East Kilbride with occasional travel to London. The role will be a mix of office and remote based working. The Atlassian Application Support Engineer role will be an initial 6 month contract, paying between £650 - £750/Day Inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile:

  • Proficiency in Atlassian tools, including plugins and their underlying technology, is essential.
  • Your primary responsibility will involve maintaining and enhancing their Atlassian tools to support their digital service.
  • You will manage the on-premise (Data Centre) installation of Atlassian products such as Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
  • Your duties will include administering the back-end Atlassian infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and security.
  • You will lead the upgrading of Atlassian Data Centre products and plugins in collaboration with OS and DB specialists.
  • Your tasks will involve replicating Production in a development environment and conducting upgrades in repeatable steps until confident to replicate them in Production.
  • You will be responsible for patching, backup, and recovery of the Atlassian infrastructure.
  • You will configure a Data Centre instance in a staging environment to support a resilient system with load balancing and distribution.
  • Supporting the business in creating Jira projects and Confluence spaces will be part of your role.
  • You will customise workflows, fields, screens, reports, and dashboards based on specific requirements.
  • You are expected to propose new ideas or processes to optimise the utilisation of the Atlassian suite.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in Jira process workflows and assessing the functionality's alignment with user requests will be part of your responsibilities.
  • You will develop metrics dashboards and advanced filters in Jira to provide operational/performance metrics and status reports to end-users and business leadership.
  • Managing all add-ons and integrations within the Atlassian suite will be under your purview.
  • Providing user and JIRA Admin training is part of your responsibilities.
  • You will manage and maintain documentation to support the Atlassian suite.
  • You should have experience in Atlassian Data Centre administration, configuring and supporting Jira and Confluence.
  • A proven track record in upgrading Data Centre configurations and resilient infrastructure is required.
  • You should possess in-depth knowledge of Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence configuration and workflow changes.
  • Deep understanding of Atlassian architecture, particularly focusing on JIRA, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, including modularized workflows, permission schemes, and notification schemes, is necessary.
  • You should demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp complex technical issues and devise solutions.
  • You should have the skills to develop solutions for integration with other tools, automate manual processes, and extract data for reporting and analytics purposes.
  • Experience with Jira add-ons, associated plugins, extensions, reporting, and report filters is required.
  • Prior experience in a technical customer support role is beneficial.
